Erin WRRF Effluent Sewer

Description of Work

The effluent sewer will extend from the Erin Water Resource Recovery Facility, along Wellington Road 52 towards Winston Churchill Boulevard then north to the West Credit River.

Schedule of Work

April 2023 – September 2023

Update or Potential Impacts

Lane and road closures are required for the installation of the effluent sewer / forcemain along Wellington Road 52 and Winston Churchill Boulevard.  Local access for residents, businesses and emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

Starting May 24th, the work area along Winston Churchill Boulevard will be closed to through-traffic for four weeks, followed by a lane closure along Wellington Road 52 just west of Winston Churchill Boulevard for a period of two weeks. These closures are required to complete the pipe installation and connect the gravity sewer on Winston Churchill Boulevard with the forcemain along Wellington Road 52, respectively.

During the road closure, vehicular and truck through-traffic along Winston Churchill Boulevard will be redirected to alternate routes as shown in the detour maps below. Detour routes will be clearly marked with traffic signs along the approach roads into the work area, which will be in place prior to each road closure.

Efforts will be made to manage traffic around the work area for the safety of workers, road users and residents. Road users should expect delays and increased traffic on Wellington Road 52, Winston Churchill Boulevard, Sideroad 15 and Tenth Line.

Work will take place from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday. Work after hours or on weekends may be required during the course of construction.

Increased truck traffic, dirt on roads, dust and noise may be experienced due to the construction activities. The Town, along with the Contactor, will make every effort to minimize these impacts to the community.

Construction notices will be distributed to residents at least one week prior to the start of the work. A Construction Notice was issued on March 31st, 2023 and May 19th, 2023.
